The present day issue that is relevant in Charlie Chaplins "The Great Dictator" is the technological advances. We have gone a long way from when his speech was written but he states in the speech "Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness...Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost." This to me means that the machinery we have yet it is good and benefits us, it also makes us cynical and we don't act like humans. We get sucked into technology and lose the personal qualities of cleverness, hard and unkind. Chaplin says "More than machinery we need humanity." I take this as even know machinery is important we need to get our heads out of our phones and ipads and actually act like a human being.
