In the Charlie Chaplin speech in "The Great Dictator" one of the issues discussed was equality of all people. Today's rising issue of equality would be the feminist movement, wanting to make sure that all women have the same rights as men. One of these issues is making sure that women receive the same pay as men in the same working position, this was brought up in a clip from the Oscars this year. In the acceptance speech by Patricia Arquette for best supporting actress she bring up this point in her speech talking about how all women deserve equal rights and pay as men in America.
