South Park is generally a political show, it is satire at its best. Satire usually features humor to get a point across regarding norms or other issues. In this episode of South Park we see a lot of symbols and themes to make the point that parents need to start talking with they're kids rather than trying to control every little aspect of their life. They go on to include all the negative effects of doing so, like in the very end when the boys decide to do negative things like smoking crack. They finally decide to do such outrageous things because of the fact that they don't really have anything to do thanks to their parents not paying attention. They went to extreme measures to accomplish something so trivial, this episode was great the way they portrayed the parents as arrogant and oblivious. It shows parents that it is important to start engaging with their kids, it is good to sit down and converse with children because they have a voice too and still need to be guided not commanded. South Park has more of a dark satire which not a lot of people are comfortable with, but for the most part everyone appreciates and understands its message.
