In the Flobot's song "Handlebars" a theme that comes up is that of control. In the beginning he starts out realizing he can make a difference with small things such as opening up a thrift store. As the song goes on however he gains more and more control until he realizes he can kill everyone and start a holocaust. He realizes the influence his words have on people and how he can influence the nation simply through speech. This idea of controlling the masses is relevant today because so many people are power hungry. I think of the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, when I think of someone seeking power nowadays. Instead of allowing the people to have a say in government, he rules with complete control. The movie "The Interview" depicts this. In the movie it eventually goes to show how Kim even goes as far as to want to blow everyone up because he is so power hungry. He is shown not looking after his people, and only caring about control. Power is a very dangerous thing, and it is better to let people have a say instead of just forcing them into control. This is shown in the song when the people rise up and fight against the power and only death and destruction comes from that. As a nation we need to be careful not to let one person control us all.
