An issue discussed in class was that of gender roles. In society there are many gender stereotypes that we are expected to follow. As a man you are often expected to be tough and strong and support women. As a woman you are often expected to be weak and let the man stand up for you instead of standing up for yourself. A huge issue today concerning gender roles is the transsexual community. These are people that feel they are a different gender than what they were born into. Many people feel they do not fit in to the typical role society expects a man or woman to follow.

This comic is about traditional gender rolls. The stereotype is that women stay home and do the cooking and cleaning while men go out and work. This comic shows that while the man is better at cooking, his wife cooks just because that is her expected role in society. This encourages us to try and forget about gender norms and instead embrace people for who they are, not just their sex.
