In my paper I plan on working with the South Park episode: It's Just Gone, which features a world where the internet has gone down. This episode is an attempt to tackle the social issue of how dependent people in modern day are of the internet. What this episode adds to the issue is a hyperbole of how desperate people would become if this were to actually happen. The episode not only features the writers opinions on the whole situation but it uses a famous literary text, Grapes of Wrath, to guide their episode. The idea behind the whole episode is that when the internet goes down people begin to migrate through the country where there is rumored to be internet.
