Blog #7

The hit song "Handlebars" by Flobots reflects the power and ability of government and corporations to influence people to do or be good or bad. The song tells a story of a young boy who lists all the things he is able to do to help other people like medical advances and technological improvements. The songs looks at how good things can also become bad if a person takes things too far. "I can handout a million vaccinations/ Or let em all die from exasperation" is a single lyric in the song that exhibits the influence of power over a person in deciding to help others or put others down for another's best interest. Having that much power leads to corruption. Hitler Is a prime example of too much power which resulted in the massacre of millions of people. He started off with "good" ideas in helping to rebuild the economy but ended in becoming one of the most deadly dictators in history. In the movie Unbroken, an American solider is kept in a Japanese internment camp where the leader has so much power that he chooses to pick on Louis Zamperini and tortures him until the end. A corrupt system.
