For the project, I am going to work with a poem from members of the Get Lit organization, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7505al6RjOM.  I decided to work with this cultural artifact because it is a poem by three young women, and it centers around sexism and racism in today's society.  It is a very present issue, and the poem provides knowledge in a very powerful yet understandable way.  This poem was performed at the Hollywood Bowl, and it really speaks to anyone who listens.
