The V for Vendetta movie has a oppressed and dark setting, but it is crucial in order for the message to get across. A strong message indeed, it clearly illustrates the mass amount of oppression towards the citizens. Everything that could be said or done was censored, the citizens had to obey and that was the end of it. It is the opposite to the way we live, usually if theres something the citizens do not like, they will exercise their rights and speak out towards the government Whereas in this move, the government could do what they wanted and no one could say anything because of this censorship. In the speech the man in the mask states words "will always retain their power", this just means that the voices of citizens are powerful, and it inly takes these voices to do something about the government so they limit this as much as possible.
