AUDIENCE
This image appeals to individuals within the age group 18-30, the interested in alcohol, single, and hooking-up age group. It appeals to men more than women because three men are getting into an elevator with Salma Hayek. The men it appeals to are ones who most likely be wealthy and have money to spend on good alcohol. However, I believe it still appeals to those who don’t have the funds because I think any guy would like to take a beautiful girl home. In addition, this image shows that the men are in control of the situation rather than the woman.
CONSTRAINTS
Due to this being a magazine advertisement, space is an obvious constraint. I feel like the illustrators managed to do an amazing job and used their limitations to their advantage because they left it to be slightly mysterious.
The mens' faces were cropped off almost to show that it could be any guy taking a beautiful woman to their room.
EXIGENCE
This magazine advertisement is used to promote Campari alcohol. The illustrators also managed to make their audiences attention go right to the “need" with the color scheme they used. Everything is black and white besides the alcohol, and Salma Hayek’s lips and purse, which are all red. It directly recognizes the alcohol and relates it to the pretty woman, and allows the viewer to draw the conclusion that they are related, which overall makes them want to purchase the product. They are selling the lifestyle along with Campari.
